Readers Speak

February 16th, 2005 by Maria Langer

What readers of these blogs have been saying.

Every once in a while I get an e-mail message from someone who has been reading these blogs. Here are a bunch of the most recent ones I’ve gotten.

I just wanted to thank you for posting “Wrath of the Hassayampa” and the pics. Blogging seems to be a mostly thankless enterprise, and it’s always hard to know if anybody’s paying attention.

I was just trying to check what was going on in Wickenburg after getting the report from my mother (who lives in the pictured trailer park). I only found your blog after seeing the webcam and trying to figure out who was running it. It looks like it’s in the old school library from when I was a kid.

One of the houses that washed away was one we’d always stop and look at when I visited. It was an old, humble stone structure with many sorts of prickly pear and even goats in the yard. It was sad to hear of its demise.

Thanks!

Hello, I have some pics from the expo on my website in case your interested:

I took the tour of the new Robinson factory building. It was huge with lots of fancy machinery. The laser cutter was neat to see in action. Afterwards they had a reception with great food and Mr. Robinson himself spoke a few words. Everyone cheered him like a hero :-)

Safe flying and keep blogging!

PS: I like that “heli for the governor” blog

I just wanted to congratulate you on receiving your new R44!

I’ve been enjoying your weblogs and share in your excitement of the waiting and the pickup and finally getting back in the air.

I’m not a pilot, yet. But I hope to be some day. In the mean time I enjoy reading about what others are doing with their PPLs.

Here’s my little webpage: http://hoverpilot.com

Maybe I’ll see you at Heli-Expo in Anaheim.

Safe flying!

Greetings from New Zealand.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for Maria’s WebLog An online journal. I spent time the last couple of days reading some 50 recent posts and found it very inspirational.

One comment which particularly caught my attention was this from back in September:

“I make my living as a writer. And I make a very good living.”

I’m glad to hear that one doesn’t have to be JK Rowling or Stephen King to be able to make a good living as a writer, and to discover that a female Mac geek can have financial success as a writer.

Your comments on the writing process are illuminating. I’ve also been fascinated by your helicopter stories and loved the photos from your Arizona trip. I definitely admire your honesty.

I’m a female Mac geek who loves gadgets. I’ve been doing Mac and Internet training and support, along with web design for some 10 years and as I approach my 50th birthday I’m considering directions for my life. I write for a local Mac magazine and do various other writing jobs too.

I don’t know yet how my life will shape up from here, but somehow your blog has given me an extra boost. I guess I’ve been feeling a little constricted and restricted, a bit worn down with all the face to face training and computer support. Your stories about Arizona, riding and flying have offered a wider horizon.

I don’t know if you’re interested in helicopters elsewhere, but here in Wellington our main company land and take off from a small wharf, with harbour on three sides. These two blog posts of mine may possibly be of interest, along with the photos. At least one of the helicopters is a Robinson.

Many thanks. I shall continue to follow your blog, and may even find something specific to comment on one of these days :-)

Cheers!
