    Hey, Maria –
About link number 3… Have you noticed that you don’t comment much on your own posts? (I mean, commenting on comments.) :)

Actually, I think I do TOO MUCH. But there’s a reason I don’t do more.

The way I set up the site, there’s a list of the 8 most recent commenters in the sidebar of the Home page. When I comment on every comment, it looks, to the casual visitor, like I’m the only one commenting!

But believe me, if I have something to say, I’ll say it.

Did you read the article in the link? Good stuff.

Ah. That’s a good reason. I don’t have that problem in my blog since there’s no sidebar with them (I just decided not to put it there).

I did read the article. It’s a very good one. I keep tight track of your del.icio.us links. You normally have good things there. :)

In my blog I try to comment on most of the comments (except if there’s nothing to comment on at all), because I want the visitors to feel welcome. Some of these comments evolved to new posts and those are usually the most personal of all (i.e., my opinions and/or rants versus news and small notes). Besides, I’ve already made a few good friends from it (commenting and being commented).

Non sequitor — I really had a good time following your recent trip to Alaska. That’s one of my must-go-before-I-die-places (together w/ my partner, who happens to be an American)… Now we already have some tips on what to avoid. Eh! (A cruise would not be our type, except if a very specialized one, with biologists included.)

I also find that comments sometimes give me ideas for new posts. Lately, I just don’t seem to have the time to write them!
