Maria…
I can’t understand the excitement.
What is the point… one can (as Derek says “view the image raw on the server”) and download it and trim away the copyright.
Why are rights better protected this way? Copying is copying, and that is copyright fraud. And when there is access to the server, the website & owner are not protected.

The point is, many people steal photos because they think it’s okay. By putting a very clear copyright notice on each photo, we can educate people who want to do the right thing but just don’t know the rules.
I like this technique because it turns off right-click to copy or save. No, it doesn’t stop screenshots.
Someone who wants to steal photos and doesn’t care about the copyright is going to steal them anyway. This just helps protect the photos a tiny bit more.
Anyone who is seriously worried about their work being stolen simply should not put it online where it can be stolen. That’s why you won’t see much of my work on Flickr or elsewhere — certainly not in high resolutions.
